The Brain Canada Foundation (commonly referred to as “Brain Canada”) is a national, charitable organization whose goal is to fund research aimed at unlocking the mystery of the brain and developing diagnostics, treatments and ultimately cure for brain disorders.
On November 5, 2013, Brain Canada announced the launch of its 2013 Multi-Investigator Research Initiative (MIRI) Sponsored Opportunity. According to Brain Canada, the purpose of these MIRI grants is to
accelerate novel and transformative research that will fundamentally change our understanding of nervous system function and dysfunction and their impact on health. The ultimate goal is to reduce the social and economic burden of neurological and mental health problems by prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment.
